Who I am.

I'm Master Nicholas Mokashi Greygray. Most days, just Nick. I'm a working man who reads. I've been broken and put back together more than once. I write because that is one of the things that helped, and because some of what I learned along the way might help someone else. I am happy and a little stoned, anxious about life like the rest of us, and my soul is crystal clear.

I am not a pastor. I am not a guru. I am not a brand strategist who decided spirituality is the next vertical. I am a man who has watched the breakroom microwave spin like a galaxy and came home and wrote about it.

What this site is.

The Grey Zone is the space between. Between magic and reality. Between work and spirit. Between the prescription and the prayer. The site has rooms for that space.

  • Codex — field notes from the inside, not the outside.
  • Free Enlightening Reading — public-domain texts, hosted properly.
  • The Practice — divination tools that take the practice seriously. (Coming Summer 2026.)
  • Greygray's Gadgets — the real ones. Vetted, with notes on what each thing does and what it doesn't.
  • Books — seven of them, between 2025 and 2026. The long-form arguments.

What this site isn't.

It is not a temple book that lives on a high shelf. It is not a prosperity course in disguise. It is not a manifestation pyramid. If you came here looking for a sermon, you will not find one. If you came looking for a hack to bypass the work, you will not find one of those either.

This is a glovebox manual with coffee stains and a folded corner where the good part starts.

What I believe, in short.

Both. Always both. Grit and grace. Work and spirit. Skeptic and practitioner. The grey is not indecision. It is balance with dirty hands.

"Attention is love with a job to do. Presence is not a mood. It is a muscle. Practice is holy and love always wins."

How to use the site.

However you want. Read a field note. Open the Reading Room and stay an hour. Skim the Books page. Sign up for the dispatch. Come back. Don't come back. Take what's useful. Leave what isn't.

If you want to write to me, the address is below. I read all of it. I respond to most of it.
