Affiliate links.

Some of the links on this site, particularly in the Greygray's Gadgets page, are affiliate links. That means if you click one and buy something, this site receives a small commission, usually between one and fifteen percent of the sale, at no extra cost to you.

This is required disclosure under U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidelines (16 CFR Part 255). It is also just useful for you to know.

Programs we participate in.

  • Amazon Associates — 1–4% on most categories.
  • Bookshop.org — 10% on book sales (supports independent bookstores).
  • Etsy — small percentage on linked items.
  • Mystic Mondays — 15% on deck and accessory sales.
  • Magic Crystals, Sivana Spirit, All Wicca — 10% on metaphysical goods.
  • Psychic Tree — 12% on items.
  • Biosonics, Healing Sounds, Sounds True — 8% on tuning forks and sound healing items.
  • Witch City Wicks — 8% on candles and ritual lights.

We add new programs as we vet new vendors. We drop programs when a vendor's quality slips.

What this means in practice.

If a thing is on the Gadgets page, it's because we'd buy it ourselves. The affiliate cut is the way the Reading Room stays free and the field notes stay unpaywalled. We do not write reviews to please vendors. We write them based on what the thing does and doesn't.

What this does not mean.

It does not mean we are paid to write any particular field note or take any particular position. The editorial side of the site is independent of the commerce side. If a vendor disliked something we wrote, that would not change what we wrote.

Other revenue.

Books on the Books page are self-published through Amazon KDP. The author receives standard KDP royalties. There may also, in time, be a paid tier of The Practice for advanced features. Free tools will stay free.

Questions.

If you want to know whether a specific link is affiliate, look for a disclosure note near it, or write us at nickmokashiwork@gmail.com. We'll tell you straight.
